How To Support the Beard

The Lemieux Foundation is a great charity that is dedicated to fighting childhood cancer and providing neonatal care. To that end, I've decided to take part in the annual NHL playoff tradition of growing a playoff beard for charity.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

I will grow this beard for the entirety of the Penguins run in the playoffs. As they are - according to the Vegas odds - the favorites to win the cup this could mean I could reach Grizzly Adams proportions.

To support my beard, go to Beardathon.com, click pledge a friend and then type in my name.

Thank you for your support.

PS: My wife really dislikes my doing this as she insists I look like a teenage boy without a beard, so the more money we raise, the less guilty I will feel. Thank you.

Countdown to Shaving

And so the path begins. Tomorrow, I will get a haircut, shave off the mane and publish my barenaked face to the world on Beardathon.com.

I am already aware my wife is going to hate me for this. I will look like a 15 year old boy for a few days and then, depending on how long the Pens are in the playoffs, will venture into Grizzly Adams territory.

I had planned on attempting this two years ago, but switched jobs. Last year I begun the venture, only to find out a week in that I had an interview for a promotion and needed to look presentable. I am thankful to say I got the job (and got a subsequent promotion five months later).
